A drink driver who crashed her car twice before being stopped by police has been disqualified from driving for nearly two years.
Camilla Benfield, 44, began driving off the BP filling station, in Elizabeth Way, Cambridge, at about 12.30am on Sunday 25 June, but immediately crashed into a perimeter brick wall.
She reversed away and drove further along Elizabeth Way before crashing into the railings of a road bridge.
Police arrived and Benfield failed a roadside breath test. She later registered 96 in custody; the legal limit is 35.
Benfield, of Hale Street, Cambridge, pleaded guilty to drink driving at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on Monday (August 11).
She was handed a community order to complete 50 hours of unpaid work and disqualified from driving for 23 months.
