A cocaine dealer who hid his stash of drugs in a sock has been jailed for 3 years.

39-year-old Elis Kola, of Lesley Avenue, York, admitted to possessing drugs and- following a search of his car- officers found 22 wraps* of cocaine worth more than £1,100 hidden in a sock in the door.

Neighbourhood police approached Mr Kola on Herbert Street in Cambridge on 9th March last year (2023) after suspecting him to be involved in a drug deal.

He was found guilty of possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply at Peterborough Crown Court last Wednesday (22nd May).

Detective Constable Lauren Skinner, who investigated, said: “We will continue to disrupt and dismantle the activities of drug dealers who bring associated crime including violence, theft and burglary to Cambridge.”

*A wrap is a small fold of a certain drug that is given and bought by individuals, in this case, small plastic baggies.
