A man who beat his partner multiple times, leaving her bloodied and terrified outside her Cambridge home, has been jailed.

Jayed Hussain, attacked the woman in the early hours of 16 June, as well as grabbing a TV and smashing it on the floor.

Neighbours called police after hearing screaming and items being smashed.

The victim, who is in her 20s, called police twice just before 2am.

At Cambridge Crown Court on Wednesday (10 September), Hussain was jailed for two years and five months for assault.

He also admitted another assault, for which he was sentenced to one year and four months; assault by beating, for which was sentenced to three months; and criminal damage, for which he was sentenced to one month – all to run concurrently.

The victim told Cambridgeshire officers Hussain had abused her before.

He would grab her by the hair, punch and kick her face and also grab her by the throat - causing multiple facial injuries and ripping a clump of her hair out.
