Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a serious collision between a car and a paramedic vehicle on an emergency callout in Whittlesey, near Peterborough.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:10am today (6 August) on Eastrea Road, near the junction with Victory Avenue.

The crash involved a black Peugeot and a rapid response ambulance, both of which were travelling towards Peterborough at the time of the collision.

The driver of the Peugeot sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. The paramedic driving the ambulance suffered minor injuries.

An investigation into the circumstances of the crash is underway, and officers are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant dash cam footage to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101 or report online, quoting the time and location of the incident.

Sgt Claire Marland, from the road policing unit, said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision.

“If you believe you may have dashcam footage of either vehicle in the lead up to the collision, please do get in touch with us as this may help us paint a better picture of what happened.”
