A woman has been taken to hospital after a fire in Lockleaze.

Firefighters attended a seven-storey block of flats on Morris Road in the early hours of this morning (Thursday 16 March).

Crews from Southmead, Temple, Patchway, Kingswood and Bedminster were called at 00:38 to reports of a fire.hey used three 45mm jets and one high pressure hose reel to extinguish the blaze.

They found that one of the first-floor flats well alight, and used three 45mm jets and one high pressure hose reel to extinguish the blaze.

One female casualty was conveyed to hospital by ambulance.

Avon & Somerset Police were also in attendance.

Avon Fire and Rescue Service say the cause of the fire is currently unknown.
