People in Bristol are being encouraged to sign books of condolences, or lay floral tributes in memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Two locations in the city have been opened for those who would like to make a tribute in person.

Alternatively, for those who can't make it in person to any of the local books, a national online version has been created and can be found here.

There is also a Bristol Royal E-Book of Remembrance, and the link can be found here.

Bristol City Hall

Bristol City Hall is staying open across the weekend, with the opening times as follows:

Friday, September 9 - 10am-6pm

Saturday, September 10 - 9am-6pm

Sunday, September 11 - closed

The City Hall is then open between 9am and 6pm from Monday, September 12th and 19th.

Bristol Cathedral

Books of condolence are also open to be signed at Bristol Cathedral - and are open between 9am and 5pm Monday-Saturday.

For those coming down on Sunday, their doors are open between 11.30am and 3pm.

Flowers, donations and flags

Those wishing to leave flowers are being asked to leave them at the West End of Bristol Cathedral - with people asked to avoid plastic-wrapped flowers in respect of the environment.

Across civic buildings during our time of mourning, flags will be at half-mast, whilst the City Hall will be lit up in purple during the whole period of mourning.

Those with donations to give are being asked to give to one of the Queen's Charities and Patronages.

Bristol City Council have also advised that once the date of the proclamation has been announced, it will take place outside City Hall on College Green.

The Council will then publish details on road closures, parking restrictions, and local business which may be affected during the National Mourning period on their website.
