Bristol City player Dan Bentley is now a Robin no more.

He has been snapped-up as the transfer window reaches its end by the Midlands side, Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 29-year-old has had a career spanning now five clubs in his time - including Southend United, Braintree Town (where he was on loan), Brentford, Bristol City and now Wolves.

He joined the Ashton Gate squad back in 2019, with Bristol City being his home for the past four years.

Dan also made the most appearances here in the South West compared to any other club he's been to.

Joining from the Bees in 2019, he's made 143 appearances for the club - while keeping 30 clean sheets in the process.

His career hasn't just spanned the adult professional football leagues, though, as Dan was scooped-up at the age of just eight by a scout by Arsenal.

Now, though, his time wearing red and white is over, as he moves up to the Premier League to the team infamous for wearing black and gold.

Dan's contract was due to come to an end in the summer of 2023, however, his move to Julen Lopetegui's side still brings with it an air of mystery, with the transfer costing Wolves an 'undisclosed fee'.

He's signed for two and a half years, with the option for an extra two years at Molineux, by which time he'll be 34.

In a statement shared on Bristol City's social media, Dan said: "It was an honour and a privilege being your captain for the last 18 months and playing in front of you every week.

"Bristol will always be a second home to me, both my daughters were born there and my family and I always felt at home during my time at City.

"I wish the club, players, staff and fans every success in the future and I hope to see the club in the Premier League in the not too distant future."

Meanwhile the transfer news still hasn't ended - and with one player leaving the club, another player comes in.

Just minutes after Bristol City FC announced Dan's departure, they revealed Nikita Haikin is coming in as their fresh new goalkeeper.

The 27-year-old spent time with Chelsea, Reading and Portsmouth as a youngetser, before heading off to Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv and Hapoel Kfar Saba in Israel.

He then spent time at Russian clubs Kuban Krasnodar and Mordovia Saransk.

He joined FK Bodø/Glimt in March 2019, where he made 121 appearances for the club, as well as making the bench of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers for the Russian national squad back in 2020 for their matches against Cyprus and Croatia.

The British national also has citizenship in Russia and Israel, where he was born.

Bristol City will be Nikita Haikin's first English club during his professional adult career.
