TIER celebrates West Country e-scooter milestone
The operator has updated on its rental scheme several months after it was first introduced
The latest rentable e-scooters and e-bikes available across Bristol and Bath have now been used for a million miles worth of journeys.
Operator TIER has announced the news this morning (8 January), saying their vehicle fleet now exceeds 3,000 scooters and bikes, making it, they say, the largest tendered service in the UK.
TIER took over as operator of the West Country's rental scheme in the autumn of 2023, replacing Voi.
To celebrate this latest milestone, TIER say they will offer 1,000 users the chance to claim a free unlock and 10 free minutes of riding, using the code MILLION2024.
Jessica Murphy, Head of Public Policy UK, commented: “Reaching a million miles in just a few months is testament to the importance and popularity of micro-mobility in the West of England.
"This milestone showcases a stable, reliable, convenient service that has reached scale and is now one of the most popular in the country.
"We hope the changes we’ve made, especially around parking, show that we are listening to our users and constantly making tweaks to ensure we are meeting the needs of the people of Bristol and Bath.”
Based on feedback TIER has introduced some changes to the service since it was first introduced.
More parking bays have been added throughout Bristol and Bath, the parking verification system has been changed and a park assist has been added.
The assist will direct you to the nearest free parking bay if the first one you arrive at is already full.
