Three more arrested in connection with Castle Park murder

Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed three more men have been arrested - with four now in custody while investigations continue

Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed three more people have been arrested in connection with a murder in Castle Park earlier this week.

That brings the total number of people taken into custody to four.

Emergency services were called to Fairfax Street after a 36-year-old man was found injured at around 4.30pm on Tuesday 31 January.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday afternoon.

A further three arrests have since been made, with a 26-year-old man and a 22-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder.

A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Witness appeals from Avon and Somerset Police continue, as they appeal to anyone who may have seen a fight between two groups of men to come forward.

They say the altercation happened involving two groups of men, all of whom were black, in the park opposite the junction of Union Street and Wine Street on Tuesday.

Two people were in possession of bikes.
