Three arrested after woman dies in Yate crash

Three people have been arrested and a woman has died after a crash in Yate yesterday evening (March 29).

Avon and Somerset Police have now launched an appeal for witnesses following the collision at around 5.40pm on Kennedy Way involving a car and a pedestrian.

Despite the best efforts of police and paramedics, a woman in her 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement, a spokesperson from Avon and Somerset Police said: "Our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time.

"They are being supported by a specially trained family liaison officer."

The three people who were arrested in connection with the incident remain in police custody.

Officers say they would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a blue Ford driving in the area.
