Thousands sign petition calling to restore original tougher sentence
The petition calls the reduced sentence an 'insult'
More than 3,000 people have signed a petition calling for the killer of Somerset's Stephen and Jennifer Chapple to spend longer behind bars
Last week, appeal judges reduced Colin Reeves' sentence from 38 years down to 35.
The former soldier killed Stephen and Jennifer at their home in Norton Fitzwarren, near Taunton - in November 2021
It followed a row over a parking space, and he did it while their children slept upstairs.
Last week appeal judges ruled the 38 year sentence was 'excessive' as he's confessed and shown remorse
The petition says the decision is an 'insult' to the couple's friends, family and children - and it calls on the Government to intervene.
It reads: "This is our plea to the people of the UK to sign this petition and get this case seen by our government.
"The reduction of his sentence is an insult to the friends, families and most importantly the children of the Chapple's."
