Those with football banning orders must hand in passports by today
Avon and Somerset Police say 70 people in the region are subject to a football banning order
There's not long to go until this year's Euros - but a few people in the West Country won't be allowed to attend - as they're currently subject to a Football Banning Order.
These orders are handed to people as a result of things like incidents committed at football matches - but also extend to other types of football-related disorder too.
Avon and Somerset Police say they are kicking off their operation across the force area, ahead of the games, which get going over the next few weeks.
They say 70 people in the area are prohibited from travelling to Germany and attending matches involving England.
Anyone who fails to surrender their passport by the deadline could be arrested, unless they have applied for an exemption.
These subject to Football Banning Orders can prevent a person from attending both club and international games and can last for up to 10 years.
England’s tournament begins on Sunday 16 June against Serbia with the following group stage games against Denmark and Slovenia taking place on 20 and 25 June.
High-visibility patrols will be conducted throughout the duration of the tournament to engage with fans and maintain public safety.
