Teenager arrested after man 'suffered knife wounds' in Eastville

A 16-year-old remains in police custody after a man was sent to hospital with knife wounds in an incident in Eastville.

It happened on Wednesday afternoon (14 February), with the teenager taken in on suspicion of wounding with intent.

The injured man's still receiving treatment for his injuries - not thought to be life threatening.

In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: "A boy aged 16 has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and remains in police custody after a 20-year-old man suffered knife wounds in an incident in Fishponds Road, Eastville, Bristol.

"The injured man went to hospital after the attack which happened at about 4.40pm on Wednesday 14 February. He remains in hospital for treatment to injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

"Officers continue to appeal for anyone with information which could help their investigation to get in touch. Please call 101 and give the reference 5224039773."
