Man arrested over stabbing in Bristol's Castle Park

Two men were seen fleeing the scene on electric motorbikes

Police are investigating an apparent stabbing in Bristol's Castle Park, that saw two men flee the scene on electric motorbikes.

The men were wearing face coverings, with the incident reported shortly after 6pm yesterday.

Officers later found a man in hospital with knife wounds that are said to be neither life-threatening nor life-changing.

One man has been arrested.

Avon & Somerset Police have issued the following statement: "Police are appealing for witnesses, information, and any footage after a man was injured in an assault in Castle Park in Bristol.

"It was reported at about 6.10pm on Monday 18 August, and after initial enquiries officers found a man at hospital being treated for knife wounds which were neither life-threatening or life-changing. He was discharged after treatment.

"The suspects were said to have left the scene on electric motorbikes towards Temple Way. They were both wearing face-coverings and are described as:

"1. A man about 6ft tall and of large build, wearing a black top grey tracksuit bottoms.

"2. A shorter man, about 5ft 6ins tall and slight, dressed in black.

"Within 45 minutes, officers arrested four people in connection with the incident. Three were later released without charge after further investigation.

"One man, 21, arrested on suspicion of affray, remains in police custody."

Police say they are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area of the park between 6 and 7pm who has any relevant information or footage.
