Search for convicted sex offender in Bristol

Police are searching for a convicted rapist, who failed to appear in court to be sentenced.

Watir Ali, should have been in Bristol Crown Court on Wednesday, but police say the last confirmed contact was on the 30th May.

There's now an appeal for information about the whereabouts of the 46-year-old from Bristol.

He's described as a south Asian man, who is about 5 foot 6ins, with short dark hair.

In his absence in court, he was sentenced to eight years in prison.

Avon and Somerset Police are asking people who know where he is to call 999 immediately.
