'Reflective' Sky Safari sees scaled back show and moments of silence
The National Anthem was played in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II
Last updated 11th Sep 2022
Longleat's Sky Safari paused last night to remember the Queen and her years of service - with a much more sombre than first planned display.
The evening night glow - which takes place again this evening - used classical rather than pop music and over the loud speaker crowds listened to messages about The Queen and her reign.
There was applause after the display finished and the National Anthem played.
More than 100 hot air balloons are involved in the three-day Sky Safari including Longleat's popular Lion, Penguin and Koala.
This year is the first where there's a third night glow on the Sunday where tethered balloons fire up their burners in time to a musical soundtrack.
