Body found in search for missing man in Bristol

Jake hadn't been seen since last Sunday

Police in Bristol who were searching for a missing man say a body has been found.

20 year old Jake, from Pembrokeshire in Wales, was last seen leaving the O2 Academy in the city on Sunday 5 March.

A search was launched after he was reported missing, with officers appealing for information, and for anyone who saw anything to contact them.

Last night, police confirmed that a body was found. Although formal identification has yet to take place, officers have updated Jake's family.

An investigation is now underway on behalf of the coroner.

Avon & Somerset Police have said in a statement, "Sadly, last night (Friday 10 March), while searching for missing Jake, officers found a body.

"Although formal identification has not yet taken place, we have updated his family accordingly. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.

"We are not treating the death as suspicious and we are continuing to carry out enquiries on behalf of the coroner.

"We would like to thank the public for sharing our appeal."

The death isn't being treated as suspicious.
