Police investigate Barton Hill arson
Seven vehicles were set alight in the early hours of Sunday
A police investigation has begun after seven vehicles were damaged in Bristol over the weekend (August 14).
Both vans and cars were set on fire in the Barton HIll Road and Queen Ann Road area of the city between 2:30am and 3am on Sunday morning.
It's thought some of the vehicles were set on fire on purpose.
Avon and Somerset Police say they want to hear from anyone who saw anything that could help their investigation or who has dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage from the area around the time.
They add there will be an increased police presence in the area for the next few days as officers carry out house to house enquires.
Thankfully no one was injured and the fires did not affect nearby homes, but this is not the first serious incident of arson in Bristol in recent months.
Back in April dozens of vehicles including several belonging to a charity were set on fire in South Gloucestershire.
In all 25 cars and vans were targeted across seven different locations in the Bradley Stoke and Stoke Gifford areas.
A 26 year old man from Filton was charged with 24 counts of arson in relation to those incidents.
