Multiple Bristol and Bath sporting fixtures due to take place over the weekend have been postponed.

Those affected include:

  • Bristol Rovers v Scunthorpe United
  • Bristol Bears v Stade Francais Paris
  • Bath Rugby v Stade Rochelais

In a statement released today (Friday 17 December), Bristol Rovers say it's due to a 'small number of COVID-19 cases in conjunction with a significant number of injuries', leaving them with below the required amount of first-team players.

The club have apologised to fans and say a rearranged date for the fixture will be confirmed in due course.

Elsewhere in rugby, all of the Round 2 matches in the Heineken Champions Cup and EPCR Challenge Cup between French and UK clubs have been postponed.

It's because of new travel measures between the UK and France which are being introduced by the French Government.

Bristol Bears and Bath Rugby will now face their opponents at a later date.
