Another handful of knives have been taken off the streets here in the West Country.

As part of their ongoing work to raise awareness the impact that blades can have, the surrender bin at the Wiltshire Football Association HQ has been emptied.

The message is that you can use the bin at any time to discard any knives or weapons that you're carrying.

Officers said: "As part of our on-going work around knife crime awareness, the surrender bin at the Wiltshire Football Association HQ on Green Lane was emptied this morning.

"A few knives had been deposited which was good to see.

"Remember this is one of our permanent surrender bins which can be used anytime – day or night - by people to safely and anonymously discard any knives or weapons they are carrying."
