A mother from Chard is appealing for the public to show their support in the search for her son, Michael Frison.

The appeal comes as Michael's family mark 6 months since he first went missing in Sardinia, Italy.

In July 2024, 25-year-old Michael was on a trip to see his grandparents, when he travelled to a remote area of the island with a friend.

On the 13th of July, he went out for a walk on his own and vanished.

Local authorities carried out a 10-day search, with drones, helicopters and an army of volunteers but found no trace of Michael.

His mother Cristina Pittalis joined the emergency services on the search, and has been working every day since to find him.

"You can't stop. You never lose hope. I must carry on because it's my son's life at stake," Cristina said.

"I need to keep awareness alive because if we stop talking about Michael then everyone will forget the fact that there is a young, bright, sensitive and kind soul just 25-years-old and missing in a foreign country.

"Our lives are devastated - you can't live not knowing. We have millions of questions and very few answers.

"We live in limbo. My life is dedicated to finding Michael."

The local authorities' investigation into his disappearance is ongoing.

Cristina continues to update Facebook with information and to raise awareness, which you can find here.
