Man sentenced for admitting violent disorder during 2021 Bristol Riots

He was handed the six-month term yesterday (5 July) - making him the 36th person to be given an immediate prison sentence over the Bristol Riots

A man, who is already serving a five-year custodial sentence for drug offences, has been handed a further six-month term to an offence in connection with the 2021 Bristol Riots.

The drug offences were not made in connection with the Bristol Riots, however.

Yesterday, 25-year-old Amir Moghadam, of Whitchurch Lane, Hengrove, appeared at Bristol Crown Court via video link, where he pleaded guilty to throwing objects at Bridewell Police Station and using a skateboard to smash its window.

The six-month sentence is to be served concurrently to his five-year term for his drug offences.

Moghadam is the 36th person to be given an immediate prison term for offences committed during the riot.

In total, they have been sentenced to 112 years and four months.

All concerned that criminal proceedings relating to what happened on Sunday 21 March 2021 are ongoing against other defendants and that they have a right to a fair trial.
