Man seriously injured in suspected Bristol XL Bully attack

He's in hospital with potentially life changing injuries

A man has been left with potentially life changing injuries after an suspected XL Bully attack in Bristol.

Avon and Somerset Police were called to a property in Quilter Grove, Knowle, at around 11:25am on Sunday morning, to reports a man had been injured in the garden.

Whilst serious, his injuries are not thought to be life threatening. He is in hospital receiving treatment.

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control and has since been released on conditional bail.

"The dog, which is at this time believed to be a registered XL Bully, was sedated, seized and removed from the address," a statement from police reads.

“We'd like to reassure the public we do not believe there is any ongoing risk to public safety following this incident."

Inquires to confirm the exact breed and registration of the dog are ongoing.
