A man remains in critical condition in hospital after a crash in Frome.

It involved a car and a stationary lorry and happened at just before 9 o'clock yesterday morning (19 October).

Police have launched an appeal for information following the incident, which saw the driver of the car - a man in his 20s - suffering serious injuries.

They say his next of kin are aware of the incident and their thoughts are with them.

The incident happened on Rodden Road in the town, which saw a black VW Golf crashing with a black DAF skip lorry which was stationary while delivering a skip onto a driveway.

The driver of the lorry, a man in his fifties, was released from hospital after treatment.

The road was closed until about 8pm while collision investigators examined the scene, and pending recovery of the vehicles.
