Man charged with murder over Frome death
A 29-year-old woman from Cheshire lost her life on Tuesday
A man from Frome has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in the town earlier this week (Tuesday 30th July).
Avon and Somerset Police were called at around 3am on Tuesday morning to an address in the Portway area of the town, where the woman was found in a serious condition.
She was taken to hospital but passed away despite the best efforts of medics and has now been named as 29-year-old Olivia Wood, from Northwich in Cheshire.
Keiron Goodwin, who is 32 and from Frome is due to appear at Bristol Magistrates Court today (Friday 2nd August).
Neighbourhood Inspector Rose Green said: “Our thoughts at this devastating time are with Olivia’s family who are being supported by a specially trained family liaison officer who will continue to keep them updated of enquiries into her tragic death.
“We’d like to reassure the local community, we do not believe there to be any wider risk to the public.”
