Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after assault in Bath

A man in his 40s is in hospital with injuries which are believed to be life-changing

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an assault in Bath.

Shortly before 9am yesterday (Tuesday 31 April) Avon and Somerset Police were called to Sheridan Road, in Bath, to report that a man had been injured in a serious assault which had taken place several hours earlier.

Officers attended alongside the ambulance service and a man, in his 40s, was taken to hospital with injuries which are being treated as life-changing, but not life-threatening.

A 36-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and assault by causing actual bodily harm, and remains in police custody.

Neighbourhood Inspector Jon Nash said: "We recognise this is a very concerning incident and we are conducting a thorough investigation into what happened.
