Man arrested on suspicion of murder after Charfield death

The man remains in police custody.

Police have arrested a man on suspicion of murder after a man died in a South Gloucestershire village on Friday.

Officers were called with ambulance crews to Thames Close, in Charfield, just before 11pm. An injured man was found at the address but could not be saved.

Officers arrested a man on suspicion of murder and he remains in police custody. There is currently an increased police presence in the village while officers carry out house to house enquiries. They don’t believe there is a risk to the wider community,

Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen an earlier altercation in the Railway Tavern pub on Wotton Road. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting the reference number 5222150363.
