Police in Bath are investigating an incident after a woman was reportedly stabbed.

Emergency services were called to Dransfield Way, near Coronation Avenue around 4.20 pm on Monday (26/02) to reports a woman had been stabbed.

We're told the woman, who is in her 20s, is in a critical but stable condition in hospital and is being supported by special trained officers.

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on the scene and is being questioned by detectives.

Avon and Somerset Police say they don't believe there's a wider risk to the public at this time, and are treating it as an "isolated incident".

Members of the public can expect to see an increased police presence over the coming days and the neighbourhood team will be carrying out high-visibility reassurance patrols.
