Man accused of murder to face trial in early 2026

A man accused of murdering an elderly woman in Westonzoyland will face trial next year.

62 year old Richard Breed, is charged with killing 87-year-old Brenda Breed on July 22nd.

Paramedics pronounced the pensioner dead at a property in Monmouth Close, near Bridgwater, Somerset, on Tuesday morning.

Judge Peter Blair KC, The Recorder of Bristol, said Breed's trial would begin on January 5th and last up to six days.

A plea and trial preparation hearing would take place on August 29th.
