Major fire sees 13 engines called out to house fire in Bristol

More than a dozen fire engines were called out to a major house fire in Filton in the early hours of this morning.

Avon Fire and Rescue say one person was taken to hospital following the incident, which saw 13 appliances sent to the scene on Filton Avenue at the height of the blaze.

After an investigation, they have revealed the cause of the fire at the property was accidental.

In an incident report, a spokesperson from Avon Fire and Rescue said: "We were called at 02:32am to reports of a fire in a house on Filton Avenue, Bristol.

"On arrival, crews found a fire in a domestic property well alight.

"At the height of the incident, 13 fire appliances were on the scene including fire engines, the drone unit, a turntable ladder and the welfare unit.

"Firefighters have extinguished the blaze and one person was treated by paramedics at the scene and conveyed to hospital.

"The cause of the fire has been determined as accidental."
