Six members of the campaign group Just Stop Oil that blocked the M25 back in 2022 to protest and demand an end to new oil and gas have been cleared of all charges relating to the incident.

Amongst these people are 31 year old Christopher White from Somerset, and 30 year old Daniel Juniper from Bristol.

They were tried by a 12-member jury in a four-week trial at Southwark Crown Court, presided over by Judge David Tomlinson.

Two members of the campaign group, Ian Bates and Abigail Percy-Ratcliffe, however were found guilty of conspiracy to cause public nuisance, and have been bailed until sentencing at a later date.

This trial follows the trial of the ‘Whole Truth Five’ in July 2024, convicted for conspiracy to cause a public nuisance due to their participation in the M25 gantry action.
