It's thought human remains found in Bristol woodland on Sunday (14 November) are that of missing man Daniel Hill.

Daniel, who is 43, was last seen on Tuesday 9 September near the Bristol Royal Infirmary and a missing persons appeal was launched later that month.

The discovery at the weekend was made near Whittock Square in Stockwood, with officers first called to the scene at around 9:50am on Sunday morning.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "While the human remains recently discovered in woodland near Whittock Square, Stockwood are yet to be formally identified, the family of missing man Daniel Hill have been informed and will be kept updated with the progress of the investigation.

"Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time."

Officers say their work to formally identify the remains is likely to take some days yet.

"We would kindly ask the public to avoid further speculation at this time," the spokesperson adds.
