Covid vaccinations are being given out at the Gloucestershire County Cricket Ground.

A vaccine centre has been set up in the pavilion at the Bristol County Ground; it's being run by staff from the Gloucester Road Medical Centre.

It makes it the second site in Bristol set up specifically to host vaccine appointments for coronavirus, though the centre is much smaller than the other, at Ashton Gate stadium.

The pavilion has previously been used to administer the flu vaccine.

“At one of the most testing times we have all faced, Gloucestershire Cricket has been proud to partner with Gloucester Road Medical Centre to offer our facilities for vaccinations to those in our local community," Gloucestershire Cricket CEO Will Brown said.

"Following on from last Autumn’s flu jabs, and at a time where the vast majority of our staff are working remotely, it is heartening to see our home and facilities being used to help combat COVID-19.

"Members of Gloucestershire’s own staff have volunteered to help assist in the vaccination process on site, and we will continue to do everything we can to help in the weeks and months to come.”

The centre, as is the case across the country, is open by appointment only.

Members of the public are being asked not to just turn up.
