Giraffe Dies At South West Zoo
Noah's Ark Zoo Farm announce the death of Genevieve "with the greatest sadness"
Keepers at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm in North Somerset say the death of one of their giraffes has come as a "huge shock".
The Zoo announced Genevieve's death in a statement on Facebook, saying they did so with "the greatest sadness".
"Genny was an amazing gentle giant, who was loved by everyone," their statement reads.
"She was a brilliant mum and always had a calming influence on Giraffes and people alike.
"This has come as a huge shock to our team and our thoughts are with our incredible Keepers, who have lost a true friend."
They say a post mortem into the cause has been held and they should have the results shortly - Genevieve was at the zoo for 10 years.
The zoo says their priority is now their other giraffes Kito and Gilbert, adding they are all devastated.
