The General Election results are in for Bristol and Bath, with the Conservatives losing all of their seats.

Labour has won the election, meaning Sir Keir Starmer is the new Prime Minister.

Millions of people headed to polling stations to vote yesterday (Thursday 4 July).

Declarations

Green Party Co-leader Carla Denyer is the new MP for Bristol Central having ousted Labour front-bencher Thangam Debbonaire.

While notable Conservative Jacob Rees-Mogg lost his seat in North East Somerset to Labour’s Dan Norris.

Dan Aldridge won a seat for Labour in Weston-Super-Mare.

While Claire Hazelgrove is the new Labour MP for Filton and Bradley Stoke.

Labour’s Karin Smyth held on to Bristol South and Kerry McCarthy kept her seat for Labour in Bristol East.

While Labour’s Darren Jones held on to Bristol North West and Labour’s Damien Egan was re-elected for Bristol North East.

There was also a Labour gain in North Somerset for Sadik Al-Hassan.

The Lib Dems have held on to Bath - Wera Hobhouse said it’s an honour to be re-elected.

While Claire Young also gained Thornbury and Yate for the Lib Dems.
