First Bus has confirmed all services serving the city centre and Broadmead have been cancelled from 4pm this evening until 5am tomorrow morning.

A fourth protest against the Police and Crime bill is due to take place this evening. The last three have descended into violence with protestors arguing they've been peaceful while the police have been heavy-handed.

Previously, the Chief Superintendent of Avon and Somerset Police said the force's response was "proportionate".

As news broke of the fourth planned protest in the city yesterday, the local police force called on the organisers to work with them for a safe protest.

The cancelations have already had an impact today. Bristol Cathedral School will be closing at 2.55pm this afternoon, to give children plenty of time to get home before services stop.
