Fire crews, investigating the cause of a blaze at a former funeral home in East Bristol say they're unable to rule out arson.

In a statement, Avon Fire and Rescue Service say due to the damage done to the building, and the risk of collapse, they are unable to access the property.

It means, for now, their investigation has come to and end.

They say it's now down to Police to launch their own investigation.

Emergency services were called to the former Co-Operative Funeralcare in Redfield yesterday evening (04/06) to reports of "big plumes of smoke" being spotted.

A number of appliances from fire stations around the City were brought to the scene.

Six engines were deployed, two with high-reaching ladders, from a number of stations across the region - involving teams from Temple, Kingswood, Bedminster and Weston-Super-Mare.
