Huge fire breaks out at derelict hotel in Bristol

Fire crews have been tackling the blaze overnight

Avon Fire say they received their first 999 call to the fire near Bristol Temple Meads station just before 10pm last night.

Dozens more followed with crews dispatched to the derelict Grosvenor Hotel on Victoria Street.

The fire service says thankfully no casualties have been reported and a number of people have been safely evacuated from a neighbouring building.

Temple Way was closed in both directions between Redcliffe Way and Victoria Street., but reopened early this morning (Wednesday).

People are being asked to avoid the area while crews continue to work on putting the fire out.

There is a warning some train services could be impacted with the fire so close to the station.
