Fire crews called to rescue of car stuck on cliff edge
Two people were rescued
Avon Fire and Rescue tell us crews from across the region have been called to reports of a vehicle stuck on a cliff edge in Clevedon.
It happened yesterday afternoon at Layde Bay - with the team securing the car with a winch before rescuing the two people inside.
In a statement, a spokesperson from the force said: "Crews from Clevedon, Portishead, Temple and Southmead were called at 15:39 on 10 June to reports of a vehicle stuck on a cliff edge at Layde Bay, Clevedon.
"On arrival, firefighters safely secured the vehicle using a winch and the Rope Rescue Team rescued the two passengers inside.
"Our colleagues from Avon & Somerset Police, the ambulance service and the Coastguard were also in attendance."
