Three teenage boys have been charged following a serious assault in Filton earlier this week.

Police were called to an incident on Station Road, outside McDonald’s, shortly before 1pm on Tuesday, 18th November.

A 17-year-old boy required hospital treatment for injuries, though they were not deemed life-threatening or life-changing.

An investigation was launched after the assault, resulting in the arrests and subsequent charges of three teenagers.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with wounding with intent, possession of a knife or blade in a public place, and criminal damage to a mobile phone.

He appeared before magistrates on Thursday, 20th November, and has been remanded in custody. His next hearing is scheduled for 22nd December.

Two 16-year-old boys have been charged with wounding with intent. One of the teenagers also faces an additional charge of possession of a knife or blade in a public place. Both appeared at Bristol Magistrates' Court on Friday, 21st November, and were remanded into custody.

As the defendants are under 18, they cannot be legally identified.

Inspector Stephen Baines said: “A significant amount of work has taken place over the past few days, which has led to three teenagers being charged in connection with this incident.

“It is important that no commentary or information is published, including on social media, that could prejudice these court proceedings.

“We hope this update provides reassurance to the community around the investigation so far. Officers have been carrying out patrols in the area in recent days and they will continue to be on hand to speak to anyone with concerns.”
