Field "well alight" on outskirts of Bristol
It comes with no rain forecast and temperatures peaking at around 30 degrees
Fire crews from across Bristol are dealing with a blaze in a field today (August 8), as temperatures outside near 30 degrees celcius.
The Avon Fire and Rescue Service first shared details of the incident at 12:49pm, saying crews from Yate, Thornbury, Bristol city centre and Bath were on the scene, while a team from the Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service were also helping out on Hall Lane in Horton, near Chipping Sodbury.
A combine harvester is also said to be well alight, but there are no reports of any injuries.
Residents are being urged to avoid the area, with blaze said to be affecting nearby roads.
It comes with the UK currently in the grip of another heatwave.
Temperatures in and around Bristol are set to exceed 30 degrees this week, with no rain forecast in the near future.
A hosepipe ban has been enforced in Hampshire and the Isle of Wright and Environment Secretary George Eustice has urged other water companies to follow suit with restrictions to ensure a consistent supply.
Thames Water, the UK's largest water company has also said temporary restrictions may be needed, but locally Bristol Water have told us they do not foresee a need for a hosepipe ban in their area.
Regardless, water saving tips include using a watering can instead of a hose, taking shorter showers and not leaving taps running unnecessarily.
