Family in hospital - and woman in serious condition - after M49 crash
Two men have been arrested as police continue to investigate the collision on Friday afternoon
A woman's being treated for potentially life-threatening injuries following a collision on the M49 that left her family in hospital.
Emergency services were called to the motorway near Hallen at about 4pm on Friday.
A green DAF lorry, a blue and white Volvo lorry, and a silver Nissan Note was involved.
The four occupants of the car - including the mother - were taken to hospital.
A nine-year-old girl is still receiving treatment for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
A 38-year-old man and a younger girl have both been discharged but remain with their family in hospital.
Both lorry drivers escaped injury.
Police are continuing to question a 34-year-old man on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless / inconsiderate driving, driving while unfit through drink / drugs, and obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty.
A man in his 50s was also arrested on suspicion of driving while over the limit for a controlled drugs.
He has been released under investigation pending blood tests.
Avon and Somerset Police have reissued their appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage of the collision.
