Bristol City Council's revealed just how hard its been hit by rising energy bills.

The authority had its bills jump from six-point-two million two years ago to 14-point-five million last year.

This is because some contracts had to be renewed just as the first price cap rise came in.

Its now trying to save money by using electricity from wind turbines and solar panels it owns to power its buildings.
