Elderly pedestrian dies after Bristol car crash

An elderly woman has died after being hit by a car in Bristol.

It happened on Southmead Road at around 5pm on Tuesday February 22.

The woman, who was in her 80s, was taken to hospital but succumbed to her injuries last night (March 3), according to Avon and Somerset Police.

"Our sympathies go out to her family at this time and they continue to receive support from specialist officers," a statement from the police reads.

An investigation into the crash has been ongoing since February 22.

Officers are asking anyone who witnessed what happened to call 101 and quote the reference number 5222044200.
