Easton Stabbing Victim Named

Police have named the victim of a fatal stabbing in Bristol

A Bristol man, who died in hospital yesterday (02/09) after being stabbed in Easton - has been named as 29-year-old Andre Gayle.

The man from the city was stabbed outside Easton Community Centre in the early hours of bank holiday Monday.

Another man who was also injured has since been released from hospital.

Acting Detective Superintendent James Riccio, of the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “Andre’s family are being supported by a specially trained liaison officer and I’d like to again express our condolences to them at this devastating time.

“We’re keeping them informed about the progress of our investigation and we have officers and staff working around-the-clock to find out how and why Andre died."

Two men who were arrested on suspicion of murder remain in custody at time of writing.

Officers say they are repeating their appeal for information about what happened.
