E-scooter rider dies following collision in Bristol

A 56-year-old man was riding along Coronation Road when the crash occurred on Friday afternoon

An e-scooter rider has died following a collision in Bristol.

It occurred on the A370 Coronation Road at around 3:20pm on Friday.

A 56-year-old man from Southville was riding the e-scooter on the cycle path westbound at the time of the collision.

Members of the public and staff at a nearby GP surgery provided help before emergency services arrived, but the man later died in hospital.

His next of kin are being supported by a specially-trained family liaison officer.

Avon and Somerset Police are continuing to investigate, and are appealing for anyone with information to call 101, quoting reference number 5224229444.
