A fire broke out at Bristol's Ashton Court this morning (October 13).

It's reported to have happened at one of the displays being hosted by the Bristol City Council-owned estate this morning.

Fire crews were called out in the late morning - and it took just the one appliance to put it out.

Unfortunately, the positive outcome wasn't the same for the dinosaur - with images showing it had burnt out.

A statement from Avon Fire and Rescue said: "Crews from Bedminster and Temple we called to reports of a fire at Ashton Court at 10:55.

"On arrival crews found the diplodocus in the dinosaur display was on fire. The diplodocus was 10 meters long and 6 meters tall.

"One firefighter wearing breathing apparatus and a high-pressure hose extinguished the fire.

"The cause of the incident is thought to have been accidental ignition."

We have also contacted Bristol City Council who say they're looking into the incident.
