Bristol is taking part in Nationwide protests against climate change today.

The group Global Justice Now wants the government to ditch an international agreement called the Energy Charter Treaty - which lets fossil fuel companies claim compensation for green policies that negatively impact them. The group say that campaigners fear these fossil fuel company claims could prevent or delay the necessary climate action being taken.

Protests are also taking place in London, Bexhill, Bradford, Cambridge, Kilmarnock, Macclesfield, Manchester, Sheffield and York.

The Bristol action started at 11am near the Hippodrome.
