Bristol woman charged over man's death in Hartcliffe

A woman has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Hartcliffe, Bristol.

Caroline Simons, 54, of Rowan House, Hartcliffe, appeared at Bristol Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Saturday 18 September)

Police say the deceased has not yet been formally identified, but is believed to be a local man in his thirties.

The man was found critically injured on Bishport Avenue on Thursday 16 September.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Inspector Russell Saunders says they are treating the man's death as suspicious and the local community can expect to see an increased police presence in the area.

He is reassuring the public that they believe it to be an isolated incident and do not consider there to be any wider risk to the public.

It is the second murder investigation launched in the space of a week, after two men were found dead in Easton last Sunday (12 September).
