Bristol councillor calls for "peace" after teenager dies in tragic incident in St Pauls
Another teenager has been arrested
Tributes are being paid to a Bristol teenager who died in hospital after police were called to Grosvenor Road in St Paul’s just after 11pm on Friday 21 July.
The man was injured and taken to hospital by ambulance but died shortly after.
The man hasn't formally been identified but he’s believed to be in his late teens and from Bristol.
Police say his immediate family are aware and will be supported by specially-trained family liaison officers.
A man, also in his late teens, has been arrested and remains in police custody.
In a statement, Avon and Somerset police said: "We’re very grateful to the community for their support to the officers who attended this tragic incident. There will be an increased police presence in the area while our enquiries continue and we’d encourage anyone with concerns to speak to our officers.
"The investigation is at a very early stage and we’d ask anyone with information or footage which could help our enquiries to contact us."
Bristol councillor Lorraine Francis turned to twitter to make a "heartfelt plea for peace".
'Awoke to hear that another youth's life has been taken in St Paul's,' the Eastville Green councillor tweeted.
